| I
am secretive, shy, and seclusive. Even though two of those are almost the
same thing. Add an introvert, misanthrope, and an ascentic. Wait, you ask.
What are those?
An introvert:
Like biologist studying a colony under a microscope, he minutely examines
his every thought, feeling, and action. Probing, futile questions like
"What do other people think of me," and "How do I look,"
and "What do other people say about me," and "Maybe I should
not have said that," are his constant nagging companions, for he
is unable to realize that other people do not spend so much time and energy
analyzing others as he thinks. He may seem unsocial, yet his greatest
desire is to be liked and accepted. He may be shy and quiet, he is often
moody and unhappy, he prefers the solitude or at most the company of one
special person to a crowd. He has an aptitude for creative work and is
uncomfortable engaging in activities that require cooperation with other
people. He may even be a genius, or eventually turn into one.
Misanthrope: Cynical, embittered, suspicious, he hates everyone. The perfectibility
of the human race? "Oh brother, don't get me on that topic."
The stupidity, the meanness, and the crookedness of most mortals (most?
More like all!)- that is his favorite theme
Ascetic: Self-denial, austerity, hunger, lonely contemplation, these are
the characteristics of the good life, so he claims. The simplest food,
if any, and the least amount of it that will keep the body and soul together,
combined with an abstinence from indulgence of any kind of earthly pleasures,
will eventually lead to the spiritual and intellectual perfection which
is man's ultimate goal-that is his philosophy
Now do these not sound exactly like me?
